Probably the simplest way to be a successful affiliate marketer is to build websites. Selling other companies products online using affiliate marketing is a fantastic way to make sales and earn money.

It is quite normal to join most affiliate programs for free, after all you are selling their products so be warned about those that ask for a one off membership charge.
Although you can find programs almost anywhere you look, those that use Paypal or Clickbank for their payments are he best to use and registering with both does not cost anything. Remember this is the early part of your affiliate marketing venture so you do not need (or want) to experiment unnecessarily; there will be plenty of time to do that when you are more established.
The biggest problem when you are new at marketing affiliate products is finding good online help; care must be taken because it is easy to get information overload but there are sites and ebooks to help you. These ebooks can be a mine of information and will contain many useful urls, however some will link to sites that want you to purchase something; whether you do or not is up to you.
It is easy to start using the free techniques first in the early days and then stat paying for worthwhile programs etc. This use of free products works well because it is a way for you to see whether the person who supplied them knows what they are doing.
Do not forget that many types of advertising still exist outside of the Internet and to be a successful affiliate marketer you must consider these also. This type of marketing is about directing traffic to your affiliate website. One of the key to success that all top affiliate marketers use is tracking where their sales originate from and dropping those forms of advertising that do not work.
The biggest benefit to affiliate marketing is there is no restriction on how many companies you can work for. One trap many new people fall into is never actually doing anything to earn the money they desire because they are too busy being permanent students.
